What should my child wear?
Your child should wear clothing that you are happy to get dirty, including footwear that can also get dirty. Please bring a waterproof coat and warm clothing for your child as well. Since we play outside in the Moray fresh air, we recommend layered clothing, and a spare change of clothes is always a good idea!
What if there is bad weather during a session?
Sessions take place no matter if there is rain, snow or sun as the Haybalers will be doing activities and play suitable for conditions the great outdsoors thow at us. In the rare event the weather is extreme and poses a risk to safety then Samm will make a decion as to cancel the session, and will give as much notice for this as possible.
What if I need to cancel or change the date?
Samm knows that things come up and plans change. If this is the case, please give Samm as much prior notice as possible, and she will be happy to reschedule the session date.

What is the age limit for my child?
Whilst there is no upper age limit, your child would benefit most from the sessions if they are no older than Primary school age. Babies are also welcome to attend the sessions with mum or dad as well!

How much do sessions cost?
A 1-hour session is £10, or a 1-hour 45-minute session is at a discounted rate of £15. Information on up-to-date session costs can be found here.
Is Moray Haybalers a childminding service?
Moray Haybalers is a dedicated outdoor nature play service. Based in a secure garden in Kinloss, Samm provides children with the space to explore, imagine, and learn through child-led play in the fresh air. The Haybaler sessions are all about hands-on discovery, from mud kitchens to nature crafts!
Where is Moray Haybalers located?
You can find Samm and the Haybalers nestled in a quiet, enclosed garden in Kinloss, surrounded by the fresh air of the Moray countryside. It’s a dedicated space designed for safe exploration, providing a hidden gem for outdoor learning right on the doorstep of Forres and Elgin.
Can Samm support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
Samm has lots of prior experience working with SEN children. Samm is happy to speak with you about the needs of your child to see if they can be supported in the sessions.
Should I bring food for my child?
There is no requirement for this as the sessions are no longer than 1 hour and 45 minutes.
What activities does Samm do?
The sessions Samm runs are always child-led and based on the child’s interests and unique personality. However, as the sessions are all about wellness in the great outdoors, activities can be anything from gardening and mud-play, to arts & crafts and educational nature-based games.
